Keegan Resources Inc (KGN) is a junior gold exploration company headquartered in Vancouver Canada. The company owns two premier gold assets in Ghana, Africa, within one of the world’s most prolific gold producing regions. Ghana is located in West Africa and has been regarded as one of the most stable African countries in which to do business.
Keegan Resources has successfully identified a significant gold deposit of 1.67 million ounces at its Esaase property. This property is also currently being expanded with mineralization open in all directions. In fact, the latest drilling results from the Esaase property, which Keegan released just a few days ago, showed significant high-grade ore near the surface. In March 2008, the company announced a purchase of adjacent properties which tripled the size of this property.
Keegan Resources’s second property is the Asumura gold property. It is located just 40 miles south of the 18+ million ounce Ahafo mine which is owned and operated by Newmont Mining, and is centered along one of Ghana’s three major deposit-holding structures. Drilling efforts on this property began in March 2008. In April 2008, Keegan announced a purchase of adjacent properties which significantly increased the size of the property.
