Cognex Corporation (CGNX) designs, develops, manufactures, and markets machine vision sensors and systems, or devices that can “see.” The company’s sensors are used in factories around the world to automate the manufacture of a wide range of items and to assure their quality. In addition to its headquarters in Natick, Massachusetts, the company also has regional offices and distributors located throughout North American, Japan, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
The company announced recently that its latest version of VisionPro software, VisionPro® 5.0, is so flexible that it can now be used with any camera or image source. The software provides pre-configured, tightly integrated acquisition support for the complete range of industrial cameras and video formats. VisionPro’s “QuickBuild” application development capabilities ensure that applications get deployed quickly and efficiently. Configuring acquisition tools, defining vision tasks, and making pass/fail decisions can all be done without any programming.
“Broad camera support, acquisition independence and an entry-level price point give system integrators, machine builders and OEMs three more reasons to choose VisionPro,” said Marilyn Matz, senior vice president, Vision Software Business Unit. “…Now they also have the flexibility to capture images from hundreds of industrial cameras and image sources while maintaining the high quality image acquisition, reliability and performance that they have come to expect from Cognex.”
