On June 25th, the company announced the signing of a multi-year service agreement with Stage Stores, Inc., parent company of Peebles brand stores. 310 Peebles locations will now have their inventories replenished daily with the help of Velocity Express’ expedited delivery services. Velocity was chosen by Stage Stores for the thirty-million dollar Peebles contract as a result of its reputation for excellent service throughout a broad network which blankets the region in which Peebles stores are located.

Velocity Express CEO Vincent Wasik expressed his enthusiasm for having been awarded such a high-profile contract in this statement: “We have worked very hard over the last few years to build the infrastructure, management team and IT systems that support the increasing demands of the top retailers in the United States. Our new agreement with Stage is confirmation that the top retailers recognize the value that Velocity brings to this business segment. Stage operates one of the most efficient supply chain networks in the United States, and we are very proud to be associated with Stage.”
