Hill International (HIL) has announced that the joint venture between Hill and 3D/I+PI has yielded an extension of its contract by develop Sorouh Real Estate U.J.S.C. to provide project management services during construction of the Shams Abu Dhabi development. The two-year contract extension has a total value to the joint venture of AED 69.9 million ($19.0M). Hill is a 50% participant in the joint venture.
Shams Abu Dhabi on Al Reem Island is a landmark development within Abu Dhabi in the U.A.E. The development is close to the city, yet it offers a self-contained community and will provide the 55,000 residents an island setting. One of the first projects expected to be completed is The Sky Tower, a 74-story residential and commercial skyscraper expected to be the tallest building in Abu Dhabi.
Hill also announced the award of two contracts by the Republic of Latvia’s Ministry of Culture. Under these contracts, the company will provide construction supervision and other consulting services during construction of the new National Library of Latvia building in Riga. The contracts have a total estimated value of approximately LVL4.5 million ($9.9M).
