Capstone Turbine Corporation (NASDAQ:CPST) today announced the installation of New York’s first microturbines. The Capstone MicroTurbine systems are positioned in four locations around the Big Apple, fueled by clean burning natural gas with minimal emissions. RSP Systems, a Cogeneration Contractors Company, completed the installation as a reliable and cost-effective alternative energy source.
“We are proud to be among the first developers to utilize microturbines in New York City,” Charles Norman of Millennium Partners stated in the press release. “The microturbine is a highly efficient source of distributed generation, and the Capstone C60 installed at our Millennium Tower Residences allows us to contribute to the mayor’s and the city’s commitment to increase the use of efficient, clean-burning, power-generation technologies.”
Cory Glick, president of RSP Systems said New York’s new microturbine code and building department standards meet a renewed interest in microturbines throughout the city. The company has a network of mechanical and electrical contractors to carry out the design, installation and commissioning of the microturbines.
“We’re excited to bring microturbines to New York City,” Glick stated. “This technology provides our customers with a reliable power source at a reduced cost with ultra low emissions.”
