Capstone Turbine Corporation (CPST) announced the signing of a new distributor agreement with Proetel Ingenieros Asociados Cia, Ltd. for all applications and market segments in Ecuador. Founded in 1999, Proetel specializes in the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power. It has developed thermo power generation projects in Ecuador, fueled by biogases and from bio-digesters and landfills as well as wellhead gases from oil exploration.
According to Jim Crouse, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Proetel possesses strong in-house engineering and technical expertise. They have projects underway in oil and gas and biogas applications both in the private and public sectors. The company will focus on the hybrid bus market and Capstone’s agreement with Proetel will enable the company to expand the distribution of products in South America.
The president of Proetel , Jose Rafael Saenz Boria, stated Proetel’s mission is to work both in the private and public sectors within their region to supply integrated power solutions with equipment and services of high quality. The partnership with Capstone is ideal for Proetel, said Boria. Signing a distribution agreement with Capstone, a producer of low-emission, clean and green microturbine systems, allows Proetel to address growing global environmental concerns within their country.
