Butler National Corporation (BUKS) Reports Solid Quarter

Butler National Corp. reported net income of $718,000 in its first quarter of fiscal 2010 (ending July 31, 2009). This was up 126% over the same period in 2008. Revenues were $6.06 million, up 17% year-over-year. Butler National Corporation also reported a backlog of $10.8 million as of 8/28/2009.

The Avionics segment saw the biggest increase in revenues, which totaled $2.3 million, up 161% on a year-over-year basis. Operating profit in this segment, which manufactures and repairs airborne switching units for Boeing and other aircraft, reached $946,000.

Butler National Corporation is an Aerospace company that provides products and services for both the commercial and military aircraft segment. The company reports in three segments: Aircraft Modifications, Avionics and Monitoring Services.

The company also has a business providing management services to Native American tribes operating casinos in the United States. Butler National Corporation has three management agreements currently in place.
