Aurizon Mines Ltd. (AZK) Reports Results of Mineral Testing Program

Aurizon Mines Ltd. reported the results of the company’s mineral testing program at the company’s prospective gold properties in Quebec.

Aurizon Mines Ltd. is setting up an exploration program at the Casa Berardi Mine, and is attempting to determine the commercial prospects of the upper and lower 123 zones located near the West Mine shaft.

Aurizon Mines Ltd. has drilled an additional six test holes spaced approximately fifty meters apart, and a preliminary assessment of these holes indicate the presence of gold. The company said that 4 of the 6 holes scored a metal factor above 10, with one core containing ten grams of gold per ton.

The management of Aurizon Mines Ltd. reported that the test program was successful. “The continuity in thickness and grade of the mineralized system in the 123 Zone confirms the potential to extend the mineralization at depth and to find more mineralization along strike of this structure,” said Gilles Carrier, P. Eng., the principal exploration geologist at the project site.

Aurizon Mines Ltd. said that the company would conduct infill drilling at the Casa Berardi Mine to further determine the mineral content of the 123 zone. The company expects to have further results by the end of 2010.
