Video Display Corp. develops and manufactures specialized CRT and LCD display screens for use in medical, military and industrial applications. In a press statement released on Friday, July 18th, the company declared that it has acquired the business of Display Concepts, LLC, a provider of high-end LCD displays for automatic teller machines.
Video Display Corp. intends to keep Display Concepts’ sales and support office in Edgerton, Wisconsin, though product design and production will be moved to Phelps, New York, the site of its Z-AXIS manufacturing facility. The company expects to capitalize on Display Concepts’ sterling reputation in the ATM display replacement and repair business. The Wisconsin company is perhaps best known for its Sunview 2000 line of ATM displays, which, unlike traditional monitors, are easily viewable in full sunlight.
Z-AXIS president Michael Allen commented, “The acquisition of Display Concepts gives Z-AXIS the unique ability to provide the ATM user with a full line of replacement CRTs as well as LCD upgrades of the customers’ preference. Upgrading existing LCDs to larger, brighter LCDs presents additional opportunity as Z-AXIS’ strength has historically been in design of industrial-grade video displays and electronic products. This ability, combined with Display Concepts’ knowledge of the ATM repair business, gives us a strong position in this market where we will leverage this expertise to maintain and expand the Display Concepts product line.”
