Versar Inc. (VSR) Wins 5-Year, $4.8 Million Peer Review Contract

Versar, a global project management company providing sustainable value oriented solutions to government and commercial clients, announced today that it has been awarded a 5-year, $4.8 million contract from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Water to conduct scientific peer reviews of EPA documents, assessments, and tools to guarantee that major scientific products receive critical review prior to dissemination or use by the EPA. The peer review program will include human health and ecological criteria, health advisories, engineering analyses, and remediation strategies.

Over the past 12 months, Versar has been awarded contracts with EPA’s Office of Research and Development and with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), making this Versar’s third peer review contract win. The other two contracts stipulate that Versar provides similar peer review support, including assembling expert panels to review EPA’s and FDA’s scientific products. In addition, Versar will organize meetings and workshops, prepare risk assessments, conduct literature reviews, and other technical and scientific assistance.

Mr. Jeff Moran, Senior Vice President Environmental Services of Versar, said, “We are very pleased to have been selected for another peer review contract supporting a major Federal agency. EPA and FDA continue to rely on Versar to ensure the quality of major scientific and technical products. We look forward to supporting EPA and FDA these next five years with their peer review needs through these three contracts.”
