Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. reported a large increase in total revenue and comparable revenue for the month of August 2010 at the company’s retail store base. Revenue also increased on a year over year basis at the company’s wholesale division.
Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. reported total revenue of $4.4 million in August 2010, a seven percent year over year increase from August 2009. The Wholesale division had revenues of $2.0 million, a six percent increase from the same month in 2009.
Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. said that revenues at the retail division were $2.3 million in August 2010, up ten percent from August 2009. The company said that on a comparable store basis, revenues were up nine percent from August 2009. Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. has seventy-six stores and included all but one in its comparable store total.
Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. has one store in its international division located in the United Kingdom. Revenue at this one store was $115,000 in August 2010, about flat with August 2009.
The management of Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. was encouraged with the August revenue report because the summer is typically a slow sales period for the company. “The third quarter, historically our weakest quarter, is shaping up well now that we are through the first two of three months,” said Shannon L. Greene, the CFO of Tandy Leather Factory, Inc.
