OpenTV Corp. (OPTV) Announces Experienced Senior VP for Advanced Advertising

OpenTV Corp. (NASDAQ: OPTV) provides solutions for the delivery of advanced television and advanced advertising services. The company today announced it has hired Paul Woidke to serve as the company’s senior vice president and general manager of advanced advertising, effective mid May.

Woidke is responsible for enhancing the OpenTV’s advanced advertising business in the United States and abroad, where the company has established itself as a competitor in blue chip Pay-TV operator customers.

“Paul’s vast knowledge of the cable and advertising industry will be instrumental in developing our advanced advertising business not only here in the U.S., but also around the world,” Ben Bennett, CEO of OpenTV stated in the press release. “Paul will be a wonderful addition to OpenTV’s executive management team and we look forward to having him on board.”

Currently acting as senior vice president of Technology for Comcast Spotlight, Woidke has more than 30 years of cable and broadcast experience. He has created technology standards and practices in more than 90 markets, including commercial ad insertion and distribution, traffic systems and the launch of segmentation products.

“While I have had a tremendous time during my tenure at Comcast Spotlight, OpenTV offers a whole new scale of opportunity,” Woidke stated. “Its worldwide reach, broadly deployed products, and advanced technology create tremendous synergy for taking advanced advertising to another level, and I am delighted to be a part of those initiatives.”
