New Generation Biofuels Holdings, Inc. (AMEX: GNB) to Build BioFuel Manufacturing Facility

New Generation Biofuels Holdings’ (“NGB”) diesel fuel oil alternative is on the brink of reaching commercialization. NGB announced on Monday that it had signed a site lease on the proposed location of its first full-scale biofuel production plant. This critical step is the culmination of more than two years’ work on the development and testing phases of the company’s environmentally-friendly, enhanced-performance renewable biofuel.

NGB has enlisted the help of Chicago development firm ECE Design to design the facility, and noted that development efforts would commence on the site “within the next few weeks”. The 25 million-gallon-per-year plant will be located at the port of Baltimore, Maryland, where NGB has signed a terminaling service agreement with Atlantic Terminaling for shipping and logistical support. At full capacity, the facility is expected to produce up to 50 million gallons of biofuel a year, and is slated for completion during the first quarter of 2009.

“We are excited to take another step forward in developing our first commercial-scale manufacturing plant in Baltimore,” commented NGB president, David Gillespie. “The location at the Atlantic Terminaling site well positions us to take advantage of the projected growth in renewable energy demand throughout the eastern US.”
