MicroVision, Inc. (MVIS) Announces New Product Concepts to be Showcased at 2014 Consumer Electronics Show

MicroVision, a prominent player in the innovative, ultra-miniature projection display technology market, announced today that it will be attending the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The company will be displaying new and exciting product concept devices in a series of meetings with consumer electronics Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to showcase the incredible possibilities enabled by PicoP® display technology that engages consumers by delivering a simple, yet dynamic, vehicle to view media-rich content on the go. The latest generation of PicoP display technology features a bright, high definition, consistently in focus image in the small form factor that has become a staple of concept devices at CES in recent years. In addition, the company will feature display engines from its partners that highlight its award-winning PicoP display technology.

MicroVision recently held focus groups around mobile devices equipped with PicoP display technology, the participants of which represented a range of demographic profiles. The members of the focus groups were shown enhanced viewing of movies, sports, and social media images on devices analogous to those that MicroVision will feature at CES. Participants had extremely positive reactions to the demonstrations, and were particularly impressed with the image quality, convenience, and ease of use of the PicoP-enabled devices. Creating a consistently focused big screen experience from a handheld, portable device through PicoP display technology was indicated as a feature that would cause consumers to watch more video on mobile devices.

MicroVision is engaged in discussions with targeted OEMs for bringing PicoP display technology to market in their products. Under its licensing business model, the company is also working with multiple partners with the goal of having supply sources for display engines based on PicoP display technology readily available for OEMs.
