Mexco Energy Corp. (MXC) Updates Texas and Louisiana Oil and Gas Activity

Mexco Energy Corp. reported an update on the company’s oil and gas activity on various properties in the United States. The company is active on a non-operated basis in Texas and Louisiana.

Mexco Energy participated in a well recently drilled at the Fuhrman-Mascho Field in Andrews County, Texas. The company reported that the well targeted both the Grayburg and San Andres formations and was producing at an initial rate of 90 barrels of oil per day.

Mexco Energy owns a 10.8% working interest and a 7.77% net revenue interest in this well, and reports that the leasehold has eleven additional drilling locations.

Mexco Energy is also active in Louisiana and reported that the company’s partner in this area recently finished drilling two horizontal wells targeting the Haynesville Shale formation. The company did not release any production information on these wells, which are located in De Soto Parish, Louisiana.

Mexco Energy said that the lease area where the wells were drilled contains five producing commercial wells and 57 future drilling locations. The company believes that the property is prospective for other formations besides the Haynesville Shale, including the Bossier and Cotton Valley formations.
