GeoPharma Inc. (GORX) Finds a Diverse Product Mix Helpful with Current Economic Conditions

GeoPharma Inc., a biotechnology company primarily focused on nutraceutical and cosmetology oriented products, works to develop, manufacture and market dietary, generic pharmaceutical and health and beauty products. Although the description of company activity may appear somewhat odd, it may be easier to say that it manufactures and distributes nutritional supplements/pharmaceutical products with other related manufacturing elements associated with the process – such a warehouse services.

Although the company may be at a different level within the “pharma” world, it can be suggested that there are portions of the company that may be of interest. One can never discount the cosmetic aspect of the company given the sheer size of that particular market. Its antibiotic division, however, is one that may be easily overlooked and prove to be a hidden jewel. American Antibiotics LC, located in Baltimore, operates from a 100,000 sq. ft. facility in the US and manufactures 3 main products that seem to be market ready and approved.

As one might expect, the company has been a casualty of the current economic conditions facing most companies. Cosmetics, perhaps a more sensitive economic product, have lowered earnings. The antibiotics segment, however, has been much less so. In any regard, however, this scenario offers opportunity. Each major segment of the business is in place and really will hold promise as the world economy emerges from current conditions. Presently, economic conditions will not prevent the need for antibiotics and will likely aide in moving the company along as the current economic situation eases. GeoPharma has a unique product mix and will likely find that this mix will support it though this difficult time.
