Gemstar-TV Guide International, Inc. (GMST), a leading media, entertainment and technology company, announced that it has signed a multi-year IPG product license agreement with Polaroid Labs. This agreement will give Polaroid the right to incorporate Gemstar-TV Guide’s interactive program guides into their individual programming channels.
Polaroid is the first consumer electronics company to deploy TV Guide’s Data Loader, a full featured version of Gemstar-TV Guide’s full-scale programming guide. The Data Loader IPG permits the TV Guide customer to develop their own Graphical User Interface that allows a unique on-screen guide.
Thomas Carson, President of Gemstar, commented, “In addition to continuing to show the value the marketplace sees in our IPG products, this agreement with Polaroid signifies Gemstar-TV Guide’s commitment to providing new and unique IPG products that are tailored to the specific needs of our CE customers.”
