Cobra Electronics, a prominent designer and marketer of award-winning safety, mobile, and automotive consumer electronics, announced today the release of Version 3.2 of the Cobra iRadar® app for iOS. This impressive update allows non-Cobra iRadar Detector users to engage in its threat sharing features without the pairing of a Cobra iRadar detector. This new element serves to substantially expand the Cobra iRadar user community and database of verified, live traffic threat information.
Any driver now has the ability to participate in the iRadar Community’s advanced real-time community threat sharing for a small monthly fee via in-app purchasing options. Access to this community includes receiving AURA® speed and red light camera notifications, verified user-reported alerts of upcoming live police locations, and other real-time traffic threat information. iRadar is the largest and most active detection community on Earth, featuring 40,000 user generated reports per day and almost one million users. It is this community that makes the Cobra iRadar Version 3.2 the premier tool for driver awareness and threat avoidance.
The iRadar App Version 3.2 offers benefits to users, in addition to the significant expansion of its user community and database, including controlling music on your phone without leaving the app, receiving visual alert banners when iRadar is running in the background, and a distance countdown to location-based or user alert points of interest.
“As a company with a mission to promote safety and awareness on the road, this newest update to iRadar is the most exciting yet as it makes our iRadar technology available to nearly anyone with an iOS device,” said Sally Washlow, president of Cobra Electronics. “We have a long heritage in making powerful radar detectors and other hardware products that promote driver awareness, but as the smartphone becomes more and more central to our lives, we wanted to make our mobile software-based solution available to all drivers everywhere in order to enrich our pre-existing iRadar community, while further promoting awareness and safety behind the wheel.”
The iRadar Community App Version 3.2, designed to work with Cobra’s iRadar family of radar detectors, is available now with purchasing options ranging from $4.99 per month to $49.99 per year and is available for iOS devices.
