The month of April has been a busy time for Capstone Turbine Corporation (CPST). The company, based out of Chatsworth, California, manufactures low-emission microturbine energy systems. The company also has sales and/or service centers in New York, Mexico City, Milan, Bath, Shanghai and Tokyo.
At the beginning of the month, the company received a $2.6M follow-up order from its Switzerland-based distributor for its C200 MicroTurbine® systems. The distributor, Verdesis Suisse SA, ordered the systems which will be deployed at multiple biogas sites throughout Austria, Germany and Spain. Previous microturbines ordered from Verdesis have been deployed in a variety of applications, including biogas, at sites throughout Belgium, France, Switzerland and Germany.
In response to the new order, Beat Naef, Verdesis Suisse SA’s president and chief executive officer, stated, “We have installed Capstone microturbines previously with positive results…We have been impressed with Capstone Turbine’s leadership in clean and green microturbine solutions and we look forward to working together in the future.”
The company received another order this month valued at $2.03M from Samsung C&T Corporation, its distributor in South Korea. The order is for Capstone’s C65, C65 Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and Resource Recovery biogas MicroTurbine® systems. Samsung C&T Corporation, the origin of the Samsung Group, is renowned for a vast range of business activities and is also engaged in energy services management for commercial and industrial customers throughout South Korea.
