Bookham Inc, (BKHM), a leading provider of high performance optical components, announced that the company has elected telecommunications veteran Yves LeMaitre to serve as the vice president of global sales and the vice president of corporate marketing. Mr. LeMaitre will be responsible for leading the Company’s telecom sales team and corporate communications group.

Prior to joining Bookham, Mr. LeMaitre held several executive level positions with Avanex Corp., most recently serving as Chief Marketing Officer. Previous to this position, LeMairtre served as the president and CEO of Lightconnect, a leading telecommunications supplier. Mr. LeMaitre graduated from Nantes University in France with a master’s degree in mathematics and computer science. He also holds an engineering degree from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications in Paris.

His considerable experience and knowledge of the optical industry significantly strengthens the company and will help us to achieve our growth plans as we drive new products into our global customer base and keep recruiting new customers.”
