Based on a new report by the IDC, a leading market research and advisory firm, the company has announced that during the first half of calendar year 2007, Blue Coat was ranked first in worldwide market share for WAN application Delivery.
According to Lucinda Borovick, vice president of data center networks, IDC, “Blue Coat has established itself as the clear market leader over the last 18 months. This leadership is as a result of a differentiated value proposition for the enterprise.” She also noted, “Blue Coat takes a unique approach by combining Web security and policy control with WAN optimization and application acceleration to offer a complete WAN Application Delivery solution for branch offices, remote workers, corporate headquarters and data centers.”
On behalf of Blue Coat, senior vice president Bethany Mayer commented, “Our comprehensive approach of WAN Application Delivery gives us the right solution for enterprises and large organizations.” She furthers ads, “As our market share reflects, WAN optimization is being replaced by WAN Application Delivery, where a company can gain visibility and control over its life lines to branch offices and remote employees.
