Asure Software, a prominent supplier of workplace management software solutions, announced yesterday that its AsureSpace Workspace Manager solution was a key contributor in the substantial reduction of Voluntary Service Overseas’ (VSO) real estate footprint, a reduction that will save VSO £400,000 annually. VSO is a volunteer organization that combats poverty across the globe.
“VSO’s workspace reduction and corresponding real estate savings are the result of a strategically planned hotdesking program using the AsureSpace Workspace Manager solution, which enabled the organisation to optimise its new office space,” explained Nigel Clarke, Vice President & General Manager, EMEA & APAC.
Hotdesking was offered previously by VSO on an informal basis in its former office, which had a larger number of desks, but a formal scheduling system became a requirement as VSO wanted to guarantee that its staff could continue to operate in a condensed footprint. At this time, VSO’s 320 employees work in a 180 desk space with access to user-friendly workspace management tools to locate and reserve workspaces when they are at the office.
AsureSpace Workspace Manager was chose by VSO for its ease of use, minimal training requirements, accessibility via any web browser or smartphone, and integration with Microsoft Outlook, as well as its integration with AsureSpace Kiosks onsite for staff who need to find ad hoc space on-site.
“It’s useful to have a solution that is so visual when trying to maximise your time in the office,” said Amaraghosha Carter, VSO head of international information technology. “Employees can see where others are sitting and select to sit near teammates in order to work together on projects when they are in the office. We saved over £400,000 annually and we can put that money back into our programs, which is exactly what our donors want to hear.”
