Asia Pacific Wire & Cable Corporation Ltd. reported large increases in sales and net income for the first six months of 2010, as the company reported strong demand for its products.

Asia Pacific Wire & Cable reported sales of $210.9 million in the six month period ending 6/30/2010, compared to sales of $150.7 million in the six month period ending 6/30/2009.

The company reported net income of $7.4 million, or $0.54 per diluted share, in the six month period ending 6/30/2010, compared to net income of $3.8 million, or $0.27 per diluted share, in the corresponding period in 2009.

The management of Asia Pacific Wire & Cable Corporation Limited attributed the strong year over year results to increased demand for the company’s enameled wire and power cable products.

Asia Pacific Wire & Cable Corporation Limited reported cash and cash equivalents of $43.2 million at 6/30/2010, up from $41.5 million at the end of 2009. The company’s book value was $9.74 per share as of the end of June 2010.

Asia Pacific Wire & Cable Corporation Limited is a manufacturer of fiber optic and copper cable and wire products for industrial use, and for the build out of infrastructure for power and telecommunications networks.
