ADDvantage Technologies Group, Inc. (AEY) Expands Sales Force Team

ADDvantage Technologies Group announced the recruitment of three industry veterans to the company’s new sales management team, with aims to increase market share. Eric Himes, Tony Garling and Jerry Scheliga will each join as salespeople. Remarkably, all are former Motorola employees with over 10 years of experience in the Broadband Access Network division, selling cable equipment. Each new addition brings with them 20 to 30 years of sales experience in the CATV industry.

President and Chief Executive Officer, David Humphrey commented, “We are excited to bring on these three veteran salespeople to help reinvigorate our sales approach and cultivate their existing relationships with some of the larger MSOs in the business. We feel these strategic hires could potentially increase our core revenue stream, especially on the refurbished equipment segment of our business. They will be reporting directly to upper management, streamlining our internal processes, and incentivizing these people to collaborate with the rest of our sales force, to drive a larger volume of sales.”

“We have decided to restructure our sales efforts, which will involve both selling equipment and supervising sales processes. These new hires will cultivate their existing long-standing relationships with industry partners and MSOs. By leveraging their extensive technical experience, we are confident that they can ultimately help increase our market presence on a long-term, consistent basis,” concluded Humphrey.

Himes brings 33 years of experience in cable equipment sales, which includes 13 years of working at Arris, formerly part of Google, which was acquired by Motorola. Himes has cultivated extensive experience as a valued reseller (VAR), working with Multiple System Operators (MSOs) to expand Companies VAR networks and strategic partnerships.

With over 17 years in sales and management, Garling brings his specific expertise in the sales of video and data products. Most recently, he held the position of senior sales specialist at Motorola, working with a variety of customers on solutions to enhance overall services offered over broadband access networks. As a senior sales specialist, he exceeded specific revenue goals by 30% in 2012.

Scheliga brings over 15 years of experience to ADDvantage Technologies. His background includes various engineering and sales management roles within Motorola, as well as coordinating field service and applications engineering efforts. In addition he played a key role in expanding the existing customer base.
