3Com Corporation (NASDAQ: COMS) today announced that Alex Dobson will be the new vice president and general manager for 3Com North America. Dobson was the vice president of sales for North America with the company Broadsoft, Inc. He also served as vice president for NetMotion Wireless, NSGDatacom, Inc. and more recently spent three years in a senior sales position for 3Com.

Ron Sege, 3Com president and COO, believes that Dobson will be a strong addition to the leadership team as well as helping the company achieve revenue and profit expectations. “North America is a key region in executing 3Com global strategy,” said Mr. Sege. “As a company, our number one goal is profitable revenue growth and Alex has a long, successful track record of working with channels to win new accounts and serve existing customers. His experience in both the networking and applications areas will be invaluable as we deliver the benefits of cost-effective, secure, converged networks to more and more customers.”
