Chanticleer Holdings, minority holder in the privately held parent company of the Hooters® brand Hooters Of America and a franchisee of international Hooters restaurants, today announced the upcoming grand opening of its Hooters restaurant in South Africa’s capital, Pretoria.

The restaurant marks Chanticleer’s fifth South African Hooters restaurant location and its eighth international location. This latest opening is commensurate with the company’s plan to open 10 Hooters locations by year-end.

The fifth largest city in South Africa and home to the Pretoria Bulls rugby team, Pretoria’s thriving sports culture is complementary to Hooters sports atmosphere and casual dining brand.

“Pretoria is the national capital and a thriving city with attractive demographics including a very active sports culture perfect for the Hooters brand,” Mike Pruitt, chairman and CEO of Chanticleer stated in the news release.

The new location boasts a central square bar as the focal point of the restaurant and 26 large flat screen high-definition televisions for patrons to watch their favorite sportscasts and games. With both indoor and outdoor seating and 200 parking bays, the new restaurant provides ample accommodations for its patrons, and is located in a busy, high-traffic area where local residents live and shop.

Joining the grand opening December 14, 2013, is Miss Hooters International winner, Kirsten Martins.
