Finisar Corporation (FSNR) Pre-Announces Third Quarter Revenue

Finisar Corporation (FNSR), a leading technology company, has pre-announced third quarter revenue. During this period, the company expects to generate record revenues of approximately $112 million, compared to the $100.7 million in revenues for the prior quarter. Furthermore, third quarter revenues are also expected to exceed previous guidance estimates of $104 to $108 million.

Such an increase can be attributable to an increase in Finisar’s gbps products. Sales for such units increased by a value of $29 million, up from the $11 million reported during 2007. An additional $8 million in sales were due to increased shipments of the company’s SFP+, XFP, and X2 transceivers. Revenues from the sale of 8Gbps Fibre Channel SAN transceivers exceeded $2 million in the quarter.

Finisar expects fourth quarter revenues to be in the range of $110-$115 million. The Company also reported that their balance of cash and investments that could be readily converted into cash rose to approximately $122 million, up from $115 million in the prior quarter.

Finisar plans to review third quarter results and discuss their business outlook during a conference call for investors at 5:00 p.m. on March 3, 2008.
