Earlier this week, B. Riley & Co., LLC announced the launch of the B. Riley Diversified Equity Composite, an equal-weighted index of stocks independently calculated by Bloomberg Indexes.
The Composite looks at fluctuations in the market value of all stocks given a Buy” rating by B. Riley’s equity research analysts and uses that information to gauge the research department’s performance. When a company is added or removed from the “Buy”list, the Composite is immediately rebalanced.
Bryant Riley, Chairman of B. Riley & Co., espoused the company’s commitment to accountability while speaking about the Composite’s launch and how it contributes to the company’s ongoing effort to measure the performance of its analyst’s recommendations. Mr. Riley also expressed satisfaction that the data will be available to investors through Bloomberg, one of the most trusted data providers on Wall Street.
The Composite is long only. As of December 31, 2013, it carried 1-, 3- and 5-year total returns of 62.68%, 87.20% and 307.92% respectively.
B. Riley & Co., LLC is a leading full service independent investment bank that has been publishing equity research for 17 years.
