ChromaDex® Corp. (CDXC) CEO Frank Jaksch Interviews with Clear Channel Business Talk Radio

ChromaDex®, a natural products company that provides proprietary science-based solutions to the dietary supplement, food and beverage, animal health, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries, reports the archiving of a recent interview between company founder and CEO Frank Jaksch and Michael Yorba, the host of Clear Channel Business Talk Radio’s “The Traders Network.”

In the interview, Jaksch discusses ChromaDex’s recent $62 million ingredient supply and brand licensing agreement with 5LINX®, as well as the company’s business model and portfolio.

“ChromaDex is currently commercializing four patented and proprietary ingredient technologies which address large multibillion dollar markets,” Jaksch stated. “NIAGEN™ is our brand for the compound nicotinamide riboside … closely related to a metabolite of the B vitamin known as Niacin. It is well known for its significant health benefits as well as for being included in many different types of products. There is a common side effect with Niacin — if you take too much you get a flush effect, and it makes people feel pretty uncomfortable. Our version NR is actually a ‘no flush’ version of Niacin that also has more pronounced health benefits largely on increasing NAD+ than Niacin even does.”

Jaksch further describes NIAGEN™, noting a recent study out of Harvard Medical School that showed that NAD+, or improving NAD+, can actually reverse the effects of aging.

ChromaDex’s product portfolio also includes a caffeine alternative called PUREENERGY™, which Jaksch says is the solution to health concerns of heavily caffeinated products.

“We put PURENERGY™ into a human study and we proved that you can deliver more caffeine, more efficiently into the blood then caffeine on its own, which means that you can reduce the amount of caffeine by up to or over 50% without losing the customer expectation — that experience that they want from the caffeine, but with a vastly reduced amount of caffeine,” he said in the interview.

Jaksch highlighted ChromaDex’s ability to market its natural products chemistry and science-based solutions to Fortune 500 companies such as Coca Cola, Kraft Foods, Nestle and Abbott Labs.
