FSGBank, N.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of First Security Group, announced the launch of an innovative, new mobile banking app designed specifically for tablets, including iPad and Android devices, to improve accessibility for account holders. FSG’s free mobile banking app is the perfect tool to supplement the bank’s online, text, and phone banking offerings and is first phase of a transition towards more end-to-end products and services being offered through a mobile avenue. Within the app, customers can check account balances, locate branches and ATM locations, pay bills, and transfer funds between accounts.
“We see the tablet as an everyday device for our business customers so it made sense to create the best user experience for an iPad or Android tablet and have it scale to a smartphone,” said Mike Kramer, CEO of FSGBank. “The finished product works well on both devices, which is significant as we continue to see a shift in customer preference from traditional branch and PC-based banking. More than 20% of our website traffic is coming from tablet and smartphone devices over the last 12 months. The new app will make it even easier for the everyday user to access their accounts at their convenience.”
The next stage of development for FSG will center on the incorporation of new retail and business services, delivering a full-service mobile channel to employers and their employees. FSG is in the process of leveraging a tight partnership with Q2, the leading supplier of enterprise solutions for secure virtual banking, in order to compete with national banks and, in most cases, overtake local competitors.
“We are thrilled to help FSG along the path to growth with our Q2mobility Apps, which help them deliver superior customer service anytime, anywhere their account holders choose,” said Matt Flake, CEO of Q2. “FSG has a strong brand and continues to demonstrate its desire to lead the financial institutions of Georgia and Tennessee with the addition of mobile banking.”
