Elephant Talk Communications announced it has begun recognizing revenue from its recently signed five-year contract with Mexico-based mobile network operator Iusacell. Having finalized the installation phase, Elephant Talk is now shifting its focus toward implementing and initiating service for Iusacell customers.
“We are extremely pleased that we can now fully concentrate on migrating our first 1.5 million customers (SIMs) to the ET platform as we offer new services in the Mexican market,” said Iusacell CEO Adrian Steckel. “Iusacell and our clients will greatly benefit from the additional services and solutions that Elephant Talk’s Software Defined Network Architecture (Software DNA) platform provides. We look forward to a broader rollout in 2014 with Elephant Talk, as we plan to add a substantial number of SIMs to the platform after the initial 1.5 million subscriber migration is completed. This is an important strategic step for Iusacell, as it allows us to drastically grow our customer base in the years ahead.”
The first commercial SIMs on the platform will be new Iusacell retail customers. They will be followed later this year by the migration of existing Iusacell customers. Having an initial capacity of more than 10 million mobile subscribers, Elephant Talk’s Software DNA platform is capable of scaling to more than 20 million users.
With the on-time delivery of Elephant Talk’s GEO redundant platform, the company completed a highly complex setup in record time. Its mobile Software DNA platform is a good choice for MVNOs, as they demand an extensive package of services and features. The company’s platform is also used more and more by MNOs due to its highly flexible infrastructure. With GSM, LTE, 4G, and CDMA in its platform, Elephant Talk is able to simplify the complete infrastructure needed by the MNO. The company looks forward to showcasing the features and benefits of its technology with Iusacell.
Elephant Talk has committed considerable resources over the past several years to creating a fully self-contained Software DNA platform that processes big data, making it capable of controlling almost all of the mobile telecommunications back office operations across multiple customer segments, including customers that are prepaid, postpaid, virtual, and direct.
