GreeneStone Healthcare Corp. (GRST) Secures New Members for Medical Team and Advanced Clinical Support with Specialties in Concurrent Treatment and Trauma

GreeneStone Healthcare, provider of Executive Healthcare services and operator of several mental health clinics, today announced the expansion of its Treatment team with new Medical and Therapeutic team hires. The new additions to GreeneStone’s world class medical team all will work primarily at the GreeneStone Muskoka addiction treatment facility. The team staffing the recently announced GreeneStone Eating Disorder clinic will benefit from full access to the Company’s new trauma specialty personnel.

Among those that the Company has added are Dr. David Patrick, MD, MA, CCFP, ABAM as Clinical Director. As clinical director at GreeneStone Muskoka, Dr. Patrick brings expertise in addiction assessment, medical detoxification, and treatment for concurrent disorders, as well as extensive experience with individual and group therapy. Dr. Patrick will be coming to GreeneStone after working as an attending physician in the Addiction Division at Homewood Health Centre and as a consultant addictionist for Hope Place Women’s Treatment Centre and Halton Recovery House. He is a certificant of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and a diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine.

Also new to the medical team is Dr. David Wright, MD, FRCPC who is a psychiatrist who has been treating residents for more than 20 years. He is a recognized expert in the treatment of trauma and PTSD. Previously he was Director of Specialized Psychiatry at Homewood Health Centre. He has seen the burden of having both a mental illness and addiction. Dr. Wright’s contributions will include assessments, individual and group work, and resident support in achieving sustained addiction recovery. Dr. Wright is a member of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, Canadian and Ontario Medical Association, International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.

In addition to the new medical team the Company has added more clinicians. Mr. Jim Hall, BA is a consultant to the team at GreeneStone. Nominated four times since 1992 by his colleagues for the Krista Sepp Memorial Award for his work with children, Jim Hall is the author of Creating Courage: Search & Rescue, a treatment manual for professionals dealing with trauma and anxiety. Jim has trained professionals and lay healers throughout Ontario and the Canadian Arctic including dealing with trauma in isolated communities. With over 25 years of clinical experience working with adults, families, and children, both in individual and group therapy modalities, Jim brings to GreeneStone a solid understanding of therapeutic best practices in the treatment of concurrent disorders such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and addictions.

Ms. Kim Laurie, BA, ICCS is the new General Manager of GreeneStone Muskoka. She is an internationally certified addiction counsellor and internationally certified clinical supervisor. She has her Bachelor degree in Psychology and is presently working on achieving her masters in Counselling Psychology. Kim has over 15 years experience in the addiction industry and has worked at various levels within the field. Kim has worked as a front line addiction counsellor in both inpatient and outpatient counselling. For the last 6 years, Kim has been the program coordinator in the addiction division of Homewood Health Centre.

As manager and clinical supervisor, Ms. Laurie oversees the work of these following additions to the clinical team:

Hildegard Jacyk, BSW, MA. Ms. Jacyk brings to GreeneStone her background in social work, psychology, and spirituality. She managed a private practice for the past 25 years, providing one-on-one counselling, small group sessions, and retreats. She approaches wellness holistically, assessing clients from emotional, physical, spiritual, creative, and relational perspectives. Ms. Jacyk’s spiritual practice at GreeneStone Muskoka helps residents find greater meaning and purpose in their lives.

Paul Laurie, MBA, ICADC. Paul is an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counsellor who has 20 years of professional clinical experience. Paul brings expertise in all areas of the addiction and mental health continuum including inpatient treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, aftercare, and individual and group therapy. Paul has a wealth of knowledge and experience working with corporations in developing addiction and mental health programs from drug policy to full, in-house, peer driven addiction and mental health programs.

Steven James Petovello, CACCF. Steven is an Addiction Therapist at GreeneStone Muskoka. He brings many years experience in addiction assessment, counselling, treating co-occurring disorders, and providing continuing care for individuals, groups, and families. Previously Mr. James worked as a Prime Addictions Therapist and Case Manager for Hope Place Centres, as well as an Addictions Counsellor with the Salvation Army, Withdrawal Management Division. He holds both the Certificate in Addiction Studies and an Addiction Careworker Diploma from McMaster University. He is currently a member of the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation and is in the process of acquiring his International Certification (ICADC).

“We now have a very strong team and our referrals continue to grow with June being the busiest month ever recorded for the GreeneStone Muskoka facility,” explained Mr. Leon. “This is very encouraging and we expect business to continue to expand at the current, rapid pace.”
